Our Relationship with God Begins with Prayer
A practice encouraged among our parishioners is to say the Daily Office daily either in groups or individually. This tradition comes from the early church. It consists of the recitation of a confession of our sins, a recitation of what we believe as Christians, seasonal prayers and readings from the Bible. It is intended to precede personal prayers and petitions. Not only will you read the Bible in two years, but you will find that your relationship with Christ grows over time. Your daily concerns begin to seem less daunting and you will begin to feel the peace of Christ in a new and wonderful way.
The format of the Daily Office comes from the Book of Common Prayer, available in bookstores and on the Internet. However, the ICCEC website has a page devoted to the Daily Office and the specific readings, prayers and psalms appointed for the day are attached to each day of prayer. Select the link below and then select the page labeled prayer and readings. You will also find the Sunday lectionary (or readings) as well.
Please come and join us in worship on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM. You will find us to be a joyful and welcoming community. On our contact page, there is information about sending us an e-mail or calling with any questions you may have. We would love to meet you!
